You Can Count on Monsters
A spot a on NPR can go a long way. On January 21, 2011, a book new to CRC Press through their recent acquisition of publisher A.K. Peters, was featured on NPR’s Weekend Edition. Apparently a lot of people were listening to NPR that weekend because You Can Count on Monsters quickly became an Amazon bestseller!
Following it’s overnight success, CRC Press launched a special campaign through local ad agency, Starmark. We created a new website, and the author, Richard Evan Schwartz, participated in a series of videos about his book. In addition we launched a complimentary social media campaign.
We targeted the math and mom bloggers, sending them free copies of the books for their review. Although we were never able to completely return to that original moment of glory, we kept the conversation and the sales going on and offline.
