The majority of my experience has been in the publishing industry, where I’ve used my own creativity to market books, trade magazines and standards and written work of others. This work has been very rewarding for me.
Initially, I worked with primarily print collateral materials such as brochures, flyers, releases, etc. Additionally, as a freelancer, I dabbled in writing white papers for a local advertising agency.
Over the years, with the advent of the internet, I’ve been able to be even more creative, working with content management systems to post promotional content ecommerce sites, producing online advertisements, creating author videos and engaging customers via social media.
This section includes a broad sampling of some of the work I’ve done over the years as a marketing professional.
Print Marketing / Direct Marketing
Most of my marketing positions have been writing intensive, and often required me to create my own promotional materials.
In this section, you will find a variety of pieces, including print marketing brochures, press releases and advertisements across a number of industries.
I have been writing content for well over a decade now. I first started writing for the web when I was working as a marketing specialist at Scholarly Resources/SR Books.
Quality content is especially important when working for a publishing company, and I quickly learned how to use their content management system to update copy I had repurposed for the web.
Most of my marketing positions have involved a lot of event marketing and tradeshow participation. I have often been solely responsible for the success of my company’s success at a tradeshow, and involved in the entire process, from handling the logistics and paperwork for a booth at a tradeshow, to creating and shipping all of the promotional materials, writing articles and staffing booths during important events and tradeshows.
I wrote a few freelance white papers for Crestec Digital, an ad agency in New Jersey. One was a case study about how they completely revamped their client’s website and exponentially increased their traffic and sales.
Another was a value add for their customers, containing lots of tips on increasing search engine results by following best practices.
